introducing kids to dogs

Hi

Just wondered if people had any tips on how to introduce kids to dogs. I have a two year old who is fascinated by them but when she is on the floor with them she is a bit worried. She is two and i want to build her confidence up. Friend has a solid lab who is an angel that we see regularly.

Any tips?

When my OH's little'un was first introduced to my lot when she was three, I sat on the floor with her on my lap, waited for the dogs (one at a time) to come up to us then showed her how to put her hand out correctly to let the dog sniff, then told her "gently" stroke. Didn't take her long to build her confidence up and she'd never really been in contact with a dog.

Had to do the same with her when introducing her to mum's bigger dogs, mine are JRTs
