On Saturday my new loan pony arrived I went to see him a month or two ago when he was up for loan or sale, then his owner decided to sell him but after seeing loads of people she didn't find anyone suitable (thought she had but the girl who came to ride him the week after her mom had been to see him wasn't very tall and could just about keep him going) so shes now put him on loan to me. Its initially for a 3 month trial period and then a 6 month rolling contract. It will be for about 12 - 18 months and then I'll have the option to buy him at the end of it.
Anyhow, heres some more information on him: Hugo is a 14.3hh Welsh Section D gelding, hes dark bay and 4 years old. Hes sooo affectionate and loving. When I first went to see him I rode him in the school on the Sunday, took him on a hack on the Tuesday and then had a lesson on him the following Thursday. Then last week I went back to ride him again and then the next day I went to see him been shod and watched his owner ride him in the field.
He arrived on Saturday morning and settled straight away. I'm hoping to lunge him for 10 mins tomorrow and then possibly ride him on Thursday. Then next weekend (I'm away this weekend) I'm hoping to take him on a hack. Hes only moved 5 mins around the corner from his last yard so it will be the same hacking.
In November me, my friend at my current yard (who was also at my last yard) and a couple of friends from my old yard are hoping to go to the beach - only 1 out of the four horses have been to the beach before so it should be an experience . Then in December we are hoping to go to Gracelands aswell as fitting in shows and fun rides and I'll be having lessons on Hugo to from the end of October
