He is lovely :) Bet your so excited!!

Excuse my ignorance of the breed as a whole buut...

Is that usual hoof conformation or are they just long?
Does his freezemark stand for anything?
And will you keep him a stallion?

:D I am merely intrigued, it must be worrying thing buying from abroad x

No they are just long! this was before the farrier had been to see him as I asked that they were re-done. But as a whole shoeing in Spain is BAD! they do not even need to be qualified and sometimes shoe themselves can you believe it  vet has said they are fine just a case of bad shoeing. They look better already as were done day later and had missed a few  x rays done and all fine :)

Yes his freezemark is his stud branding.

Yes keeping him as a stallion.

Looks like a dud to me...

Better send him over here ;):D

I hope you both have a fantastic future ahead

-turns nasty shade of green whilst mumbling -

Ah i see, well they aren't terrible but just long, thought it was maybe how they keep their feet :p

He is lovely. Good luck with him :)

I was in Malaga for 5 days looking at horses and by the time it got to seeing Jascal I had pretty much got used to the bad feet!!

I have another PRE and his were picked up in his vetting. However when he got to the UK good trimming and good food sorts them out! he has always been barefoot and in full competition work fine too!

It is just frustrating, as they do not see it like we do over here!:rolleyes:

Is he sickle hocked or is that the bad shoeing and bad photo

Suspect he will stand a lot better once his forefeet are sorted out but I agree he does appear to be a liitle sickle hocked.
I would need sedation if my horses horses feet looked like that.
OP I bet you can't wait to get him home and sorted out.
How long does it take to get them home ?

Sorry yes it is VERY bad photo, it was kind of mid walk off!

I kind of got used to it when I was there, ALL of them everywhere I went did not have great feet - some better some worse. They just don't look after their feet in Spain (generalisation of course I'm sure some do!). He got done the day after these photos, so already looks a lot better :) But my farrier can not wait to sort them out :) his feet are actually nice, it is just a case of bad farriery!

It is a 3-5 day journey from Spain to UK. They stop upload them in stables over night the whole way (DEFRA rules etc). My first boy had a fantastic journey over and he did not want to get off their 10* accommodation truck  he got more food during his transport than when in spain :p:p

Just what I was thinking...looks much warmer over in Spain. Good looking boy.(I mean horse not the other chap..hope thats not you)?

I know poor horse! mind you it is REALLY bad there at the moment. Rain is torrential and he is down a mountain it was really difficult getting to him

My other boy has only just this year (after 3 years of being here) accepted rain when in a field (well as long as he has a huge rug on anyway!). As before he used to race up and down the gate line when it started to spit and not even proper rain! big baby :rolleyes: he does however much prefer staying in over going out still

Oh and no that is not me, that is his spaniard current owner.
