Got him yesterday and he's been in his stable since (taken him out a few times for a nose though).

The yard i'm on is currently using two fields - one for 24/7 horses and the other for stabled horses. The field with stabled horses has less in there so was going to introduce him to them first. Yard doesn't have the facilities to have him in his own field plus he'd hate that.

He's a lover not a fighter so I feel abit hesistant about letting him out but will turn him out rugged for added protection. I have all day off tomorrow so can monitor him but want to know if any of you have advice.

Hot chocolate for getting this far!

it is scarey when u do it! but horses are horses and they will sort out their pecking order without the need for us to help! turn him out, stay in sight, but out the way. let them get on with their stuff. any REAL problems, then get horsey out.

when i put my new boy in the first time, he took a huge kick to his hind leg. i heard the crack and it made me feel sick. i was imagining broken bones as he hobbled away. i got him out to check him over, apart from a cut, there was no major damage, he went sound again so i put him back in, then went home. i'd seen enough!!!! and then find something to do to take ur mind off the worrying!!! good luck
