Our little JR bitch Peanut had her first litter yesterday. 3 boys and 2 girls. These are some pics for anyone interested of while she was having them, excuse little bit of gore! I am in danger of becoming the worst puppy bore ever!

The proud father Fudgie (also JR) is being kept out of the way at the moment as mum is very protective. Anyone know how long we should keep the other dogs away for?

Depends how mum is really - keep them away for a couple of days at least until she has settled, then see what happens when you let them back in. Some bitches are really protective and will fly out at any other dogs which come near, some are not bothered at all and will let other dogs get into the box with them and their puppies

That has just reminded me of my mum's old stud dog (now sadly no longer with us) who used to love puppies and would get in the box with them whenever he could

He always looked rather concerned that he couldnt feed them though
