Our new girl arrived last night. She's an approximately 1 year old lurcher bitch which was being rehomed via one of the local greyhound charities.
She was originally adopted from a rehoming center but her owner realised she couldn't care for her due to ill health so she then went to her daughters who already had dogs and they didn't get on with Rowan - it looks like we are her 3rd home since the end of August
She's settled in brilliantly - claimed a spot on the sofa and despite our original plans, slept all night in the bed with us (under the duvet)
Her crate arrived today though (we've been told she is crate trained) so hopefully she'll sleep in that tonight.
She's extremely affectionate - barely leaves you side but then after the life she's had who can blame her. She's a joy to walk, loves her food (and isn't adverse to trying to jump on the kitchen worktop if she thinks there might be something interesting!)
She has been a bit car sick which we knew about and has some other minor habits we'll address over time (jumping up on everyone, scratching at the doors).
She's currently curled up beside me on the couch
