ok, ive just been thinking. you all know Missy, but none of you know Rupert
Rupert was my first pony, sadly no pictures of me on him as i havent got a scanner and this this is a relatively new computer! anyhow! i shall tell you his story
when i was 8, we started looking for a pony, and after a bit, we came across a FAT 14.2hh coblet. he was NOT what we were looking for, but mum being horsey and wanting something to have a plod on when needed, we got him.
when i say he was over weight, i mean he was over weight. at the time we had no idea, and put him on the grass and of course, he got lami. the first year was a MASSIVE learning curve for us. we learnt so much about laminitus etc. eventually, we got 100 kilo's off him and he looked good. the only problem with him is his conformation. which in all honesty, laughable.
he will never lose his crest, which i maight add, is HUGE. seriously, rupert has been under weight and that crest was still standing proud! he has a big bum, too big for his body, not alot of bone and short legs. although they are fantastic legs, just on the wrong horse!!
after the first year, i started properly riding him and we went hunting and done loads of pony club. he showed me how to jump properly. he also gave me the lesson that every time i pulled his mouth too much, i would land on the floor!
hes 16 now and just used as a happy hack 3 or 4 times a week. he will be retired soon as his bad conformation will get the better of him within the next few years. hes also in the early stages of cushions. i guess i dont talk about him much because Missy walked in and stole the limelight! but he is very much loved and will stay with us forever. we were going to sell him due to financial reasons (some of you may remember that post) but hes not now and hes here to stay
i love him.
ETA - its not me on him. im always the one with the camera and one of my friends rides him now!
