Introducing youngsters to traffic

Is putting them in a field by a (fast B) road benefiting this, or hindering it? Good idea? Pro's and cons please.

Always worked well with ours! Get used to sirens, motorbikes, lorries etc

Depends really, if they are incredibly nervous & out with another jumpy type, then no. Out with a sensible older horse who won't react though they generally just copy the older one. At first they might be a bit jumpy & spin round etc & prepare for flight, but ime they realise the others aren't bothered & soon don't either.

One of my loan horses was quite spooky with traffic so we put him in a field which conjoins with a main road and the M6 for about 2/3 months.

He much benefited from it
