Hi Everyone, I'm new here but have been lurking for some time. I've particularly enjoyed all the horsey banter in a language where I don't have to screw my face up to understand what's going on.

I live in the South of Belgium where I've been lucky enough to find and buy my little horse. He's a 6 yr old grey gelding (arab Dad x Selle Français/WB/arab Mum). I'm pretty much a novice (lots of careering around the Lincs countryside when young but not what OH would describe as "equitation" :p). I'm very fortunate to have my very experienced OH to help me school my young horse and basically give us both the confidence and experience we need. OH has his beautiful TB x mare and competes in 3-day eventing, jumping and a bit of dressage.

I'm hoping to start doing the 3-day event with my little horse next year. We will probably start with some low level dressage and jumping this year. I'm leaving it up to OH to do the difficult bit of getting him used to competitions and cross this year :D.

I don't have a dog but I do have a very angry cat who originates from Derby.................

Welcome to the forum. I live in Hertfordshire but was born in St Idesbald (West Flanders) which is probably the other end of Belgium from you!

Magicmadge - I originate from good ole Grantham town - Gham and proud;) Will put some pics of horsey up soon, only ones I've got are of him just after I bought him and he's rather on the tubby side after spending his first 5 years in a field in Flanders.

ibot - I'm afraid I don't know the Lord Newcastle Stables, it sounds very grand!

Divasmum - You are correct, we are about 1hr South of Brussels but we do venture North fairly regularly for competitions. My horse is Flemish, he was homebred by a friend near Beverloo.
