Ok, Ruby has been using her harness from day one as her neck has always been much fatter than her head and I couldnt use a collar and lead without her ducking out at inopportune moments.

Now, being reasonably sensible about walking close, I want o introduce her to a slip. I know this sounds a bit odd but any tips? Ive always used them right from the start with pups, never on a more mature dog.

Oh and would it be really 'naff' if her slip was lilac??

B's is red. To match his red tracking harness and his red half-check

I'd use the leather stopper to stop the loop widening too much and keep it quite high up around her neck to begin with then eventually widen it out when she gets used to it so it can lie around the base of her neck/shoulder.

Also obvs that it is right way around, top of lead should come from far side over through loop, depending on what side you have her, if you know what I mean? Hard to explain! Not up and under from the side closest to you.
