Our spaniel is starting to become a pain with regards to running out of the garden and wondering around. We live on a farm, our back garden has a large cornish hedge running along one side, and we've put up a fence/gate to separate it off as best as we can from the driveway. However Rosie jumps very well and thinks nothing of jumping up and over a 5ft cornish wall, and here lies our problem.
The farm is very busy and is also the base for a wholesaler, to which Rosie has taken a liking to going and visiting the depot and workshops. Large arctic lorries and delivery vans/lorries are always coming and going. The people who work in the depot think she is great and play with her, hence she keeps going out of the garden and over to play. It's getting to the point where we are worrying that she will be run over by something.
Does anybody have any experience of perimeter fencing that gives a shock/impulse to a collar the dog is wearing? Like a beam breaker type thing... it's the last resort but we need to sort it out asap. Can't fence the garden off anymore than we already have unless we build an 8ft fence on top of the hedge!
Any suggestions/recommendations would be greatly appreciated
