Hi I posted yest about having vets and farrier out today for my girlie anyway had farrier shoes back on balanced up and looking normal again, vet came out said balance looked good was walking better put her on the lunge only 1/10 lame in trot so huge improvement from ten days ago when she was very lame in walk. Vet has recomended IRAP and she is booked in for wed pm all very quick insurance claim runs out in a month but he basically said that this would fix her this is for her coffin joint so between the IRAP and keeping her well shod she should be fine. I would like some more info on this treatment sucess stories or not how long it was before you saw a difference anything please x

hi my boy has had 3 lots of IRAP 2 weeks apart had his last on the 10th July, he was back at the hospital today to much improvement although he has many other issues, he has gone from 3/10 lame to 1/10 lame on soft lunging circle, it was sort of a throw everything at him and see what happens or pts......good luck

Hiya.. Yes my boy had IRAP about a year and half ago now. Hes still sound.. He was on egg bars too.. Hes apparently got arthiritis in his coffin joint. was lame on and off and then got referred to large animal hospital..very long story but basically after 3 injections of IRAP, he was sound, back hacking and jumping (only indoors) and hacking no trotting on roads etc but hes doing great..Hes now out 24/7 however in a field stable also to give him as much movement as possible.. Hes only rising 9 years old so plenty years ahead of him yet.. I wish you all the best with the IRAP.. i was certainly impressed with it... Good luck..

this is the best explaination I have found
They take an amount of blood from your horses neck and mix it with some specially coated glass beads (coated with Interleukin-1, which promotes the blood to produce anti-inflammatory protiens to counteract its effect). The blood is spun in a centrifuge to separate the protien-rich serum to be injected. The beads are left in the syringe, so only the anti-inflammatory protiens are left, none of the inflammatory Interleukin-1 is injected into the horse. The serum is then injected into the affected area/joint. it is supposed to promote the healing from the inside out. My vet is italian and although he is brillant he explanations are not always clear so I have had to find a certain amount myself x

i have bragged about irap on this forum so much i should be selling it my horse had major problems had irap now sound but im so carefull with him i dont trot on road and i wont jump him but hes more than happy to do both jumping over 4 foot fenceing as the grass is longer and jog trotting home to get his dinner my advice with this is box rest though treatment i had all five injections and try to have no excess weight on them which i have failed badly and i went barefoot but fully recommed it

Tried it on Jacob for his coffin joint arthritis and it hasnt made any difference

We had it done as the insurance ran out and our insurance has got very sticky about the dates the injections were given despite the invoice being within the year allowed.
