The first leg of the Nations Cup series got under way on Friday the 9th of March at the CSIO5* Wellington, Florida.
Six teams competed in the Nations Cup where Ireland finished in a very respectable second place with a total of just four faults, after loosing out to Canada who finished in first place with just one time fault.
Cian OConnor and Irish Independent Echo Beach (ISH) gave an out standing performance for the Irish team, leaving every fence standing after their two rounds. Commenting on Irish Independent Echo Beachs performance from the show in Florida Cian OConnor stated that The mare has been improving all the time. Last year she jumped clears at Hickstead and Dublin and its great to see it all coming together for a double clear here in Wellington. Im really excited about the season ahead.
Irish Independent Echo Beach (ISH) 1997 chestnut mare by Clover Echo (ISH) out of Gifted (ISH), by Cavalier Royale (HOLST). Bred by Brendan McSorley, Tallymulmona, Fintona, Co. Tyrone. Rider: Cian OConnor (Irl).
A Chestnut mare, well I never!!
