Hi, I got a mare nearly six months ago now and I am still being messed about with being sent from BHS to IHS, neither wanting to know. We're getting quite anxious that she's not even registered as our own now, so what suggestions can people give us? Would we be better off just applying for a completely new passport? She was born in Republic of Ireland and moved over to England a few years before we got her but we don't have any emigration papers. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as we're stumped. Thanks

You need to contact Horse Sport Ireland, they are the passport issuing body for all horses in Ireland (google it). They took over the Irish Cob Society studbook some time ago and can advise you what to do in order to change the owner details. Passports, however, are NOT proof of ownership, simply identyfying documentation for the horse. She should also have a microchip which identifies her. There are no such thing as "emigration papers"; nothing is required except a passport to move horses between Ireland and the UK.

Do you have a passport-green, blue or white document containing markings and vaccination record? The white one is called an identification document, confused me for a while.
