i agree . i have first hand experience of this guy but have been lucky enough to end up with a horse i can at least ride and i love to bits... but this dealer is very naughty. When people say important things about buying a horse i should add to that list google sellers number/name or both. Certainly in some case brings up interesting and usefull information.
Frightening to think that people who believe H&H to be the Holy Grail of the horse world will still believe that shysters and dodgepots advertising on the mag and online are somehow approved.
Ad caught my eye but soon as I saw 'County Durham' and '3 months warranty' the alarm bells started ringing. It's a shame as he looks a reasonably decent type.
I honestly think it's a bit unrealistic to expect H&H to 'vet' every advertiser. For starters, classified ads in IPC group titles aren't taken by 'specialist' people - the ad staff take ads for a number of different titles and can't be expected to know who is - or isn't - 'undesirable'.
And even if they did, it can be very 'tricky' declining advertising that does not breach the magazine's guidelines. When I was editing British Horse (BHS members' mag.), a certain insurance company wanted to insert flyers - I didn't want to take them, partly because of that company's reputation - and also because we had a reputable insurance company carrying membership insurance and providing generous sponsorship. The insurance company threatened all sorts - particularly an action for 'restraint of trade'. BHS solicitors ruled it was too risky! I had to settle for charging them full rate card - and put up with the avalanche of complaints from BHS members who thought we should have rejected the advertising.

We hear what you are saying and yes it does cause anger to see ''dodgy'' organisations and dealers promoted
In an ideal world we would be able to pass on ''learn from my experience'' and google is a wonderful friend but if all discussions of this kind are deleted then the first time buyer or non-horsy parent will continue to be victims of these clever people.
As above plus it does irk somewhat when people who have been flagged up as dodgy/convicted in the News section are then advertising at the back as well!
