Has anybody used an equine agent to source a horse - particularly in Ireland. How does this usually work and are there any comebacks or is this the same as buying privately?

Also are there any Irish peeps (northern) that know everyone that might recognise a name if I PM them??

iv never heard of an equine agent in ireland that wasnt a dealer ...but we do have a large one near me so maybe im just cynical....
but if you know exactly what you are looking for and are willing to pay for a full vetting including bloods then id say just find an area that you are willing to travel too and contact all the main selling yards in that area in advance, ask if they have what your loooking for for sale or no of anyone who might... then go and see for yourself....it depends on what type of horse your looking for?..im afraid im not northern tho so i wouldnt know about the dealers up there..
