So having finally delivered my lovely Irish horse to his new loan home, I'm looking for another. I've been let down by someone who allowed me to make a 6 hour round trip to look at her horse, only to decide once I'd told her I wanted him that she didn't want to sell him after all! So I've decided that maybe a reputable dealer/agent might be the better approach, when I can tell them of my requirements and ability and they can help me to find the right horse. I'm not in any hurry. There is one in particular in West Sussex that advertises on the internet. Just wondering if any of you have any positive or negative feedback. Thanks.

All irish horses, pm me if you like the look of any of them as I ride them all regularly and can let you know which to bother with and which to ignore

all i can say is steer well clear of greenmoor stud in leeds!
not atall what the horses are advertised as the very opposite infact as i have first hand experince with a horse from them. steer well clear!!

My farrier claims to buy irish imports, school them on and sell them and also claims to have a very good reputation. I only say 'claims' because (a) he's a farrier and I know they have a tendency to exaggerate to excess and (b) I have only just started using him, so cant vouch for him personally; although he seems a very genuine chap, straightforward and honest and I dont think he would place a horse with you if he thought it wasnt right as he says has his reputation to protect. Might be worth a call, hes in Lockerley ar Tytherley (Salisbury/Romsey area), cant help with the dealer you mentioned but having recently searched for a horse could mention a few to avoid! PM me if you would like his name and number, or any other info that I can pass on which I discovered on my h orse-hunt!!

There is a place in Pulborough called Ride Irish (http://www.rideirish.co.uk) that I have used in the past and I found them to be excellent. Very honest people and nice horses. They are all Irish horses but all been sourced privately in Ireland and not just picked up at sales.
