Ok so this is just a niggly thing but I was recently reading a British sj mag and noticed they have like a jokes page that has a Paddy Irish Logic section where they list stupid jokes or things that horsey folk have said etc.

Just wondering do any other Irish people find this a tad offensive? Just seems that the word "Irish" is another word for stupid? I have to say I don't notice it so much in other sports. You do still hear it the odd time from equestrian commentators. Surely its humour that's a little outdated and offensive?

Thoughts please :)

Been half and half it doesnt bother me about the "thick paddy" attitude.
After all...the Irish cant be that stupid...they manage to sell some rotten looking horses to the english for vast amounts of money and not many of them end up in SJ magazines:D;)

yeah i noticed that section and to be honest it does bother me a tiny bit. i just get a twinge of anger when i see it.

LOL agree!

Plus we also have our own jokes over here about you lot across the water ;)
It's just jokes, i'm not easily offended, don't think the irish are generally.

Meh. Can't say I'm bothered. I get the pee taken all the time by the OH (English... *spits* ;) ) and his family. I have bigger issues than "do you want your drive tarmacing.." jokes!

I don't particularly LIKE it, but I can't say I get too riled up by stuff like this. If some one said it to me personally I might get a bit more het up!
