Has anyone bought from Gerty?(Irish sport equine) I don't want to waste a trip if the horses aren't as she says they are. The riders in the videos are pro's yet I'm still in the middle so I don't think I'll be able to take on a green/strong horse. I need to get confidence from the horse so it wouldn't be ideal to get a horse who needs a confident rider.

The ones I have heard about have all been far greener than expected, several also a lot smaller, one person I know kept the first but loaned it out as it was totally unsuitable, too green and far too small, she then for some inexplicable reason bought another which again was not suitable, that went back, after a fight to get the money back.
Go and look for a pony you can try, that is doing the job you want it for and leave the green ones to someone else, they are not exactly cheap either you could buy a well made pony for a similar price to most that are normally on the site, haven't looked for ages so there may be a bargain in the current climate.

In a few more weeks there won't be any need to go to Ireland looking for horses. There is going to be a lot of horses, decent and not so decent types on the market.

The dealer you mention buys them, rough breaks them and sells them on, often unseen for the purchasers to make something out of the horse. If you are not confident with young uneducated horses the dealer is not for you.
