Thats the problem with irish horse breeding at the moment, a lot more breeders are sending their mares to warmbloods instead of RIDs or ISHs and actually an ISH used to be a TBxID but now they are also called ISH if they are ISH/TB/ID/WB, it means that there is a lot a variety coming into the breed and not always in a good way, I think the true ISH is going to be lost in afew years time. I went to a seminar recently and one of the speakers was a producer of some of the top ISHs (he produced Ringwood Cockatoo) and he was saying the same thing, that the irish breeding programme is a joke and that we need to get our act together before we loose the true ISH (IDxTBs). The registered ID is also under threat. If breeders want to cross their mares with warmbloods thats fine but they should not interfer with the true ISH. To be honest any horse bred in Ireland at the moment is called an ISH!!
