you never know, it could be something very very simple as sooo many things are banned now under FEI rules....even things like certain makes of PURPLE SPRAY!! I know with one of our boys we had a huge panic once. One of the horses on the yards was prescribed a steroid based supplement for a muscle problem and so we had to keep everything separate from the 4* boy especially, well, one day one of the students was given this horse's feed to give to him and went and mistakenly fed the 4* horse!! You can imagne the huge panic when this was realised and we were monitoring his bloods like crazy for the few weeks until it was out of his system. It could be something prescribed like antibiotics, that should have been gone from his system by the time the tests were done.

yea i think its even worse sometimes if its something like that cos your name would be tarnished for ever even if it wasnt intentional. apparently it was in the irish newspaper and everything! who knows with these things though...people always try to deny it, but your right it could be a genuine mistake, but still its so embarrassing. how could u live it down!

It is the horse he does young riders on, but the positive test was at Ballindenisk in April 2006 in the 2* class.
I'm sure he has been tested again and been negative since that time.
The deadline for him to explain the circumstances to the FEI hasn't even passed yet, neither has the name of the drug concerned been released, so perhaps we should give him and connections a chance to explain themselves first and wait to her the final verdict.
I do feel it is different discussing Robert Maguire's case by the way, as it has been completed and all details released into the public domain.

yes it was in the irish field last week, so if its in a national newspaper i think it can be discussed on here! else it wouldnt have been allowed to have been printed. the FEI released the information and there has been a positive test for drugs. no negative test, hence he is under investigation by the FEI. it was on his horse that he did YRs on...ballybolger bushman or something..thats the name of it.

I know that it is the horse he does young riders on, but it was NOT in a young rider comp or at the young rider championships that the positive test ocurred (as you suggested in your first post).
All I said was give the chap a chance to defend himself to the FEI first, then discuss it to your hearts content for all I care.

yea it was in a FEI CIC** class. yea i just said its unfortunate, cos like i said in an earlier post even if it was an accident that sort of thing is so hard to get over. and for someone young to have to cope with the embarrassment it must be really hard. even worse if it is not on purpose. poor guy! sadly people dont forget these things. u know wat its like..lifes a bitch hey.
