Iris's Gift retired

As per the title, Iris's Gift has been retired from racing due to injuries suffered on the gallops during the week.
To me,he never looked a natural jumper over fences....but he was a damn fine horse over hurdles and I will miss seeing him on the racecourse.

His owner was my Uncles coalman before Iris did so well, so we have followed his career closely.

I agree he wasn't natural over fences but he has guts and is a tough horse, he had a certain quality when you saw him at the racecourse and its a shame its been cut short as he was and is a very popular to follow.

I wonder what he will do now?

Aww what a shame.

I've followed him since his early days and have always rated him as one of the best hurdlers in the country.

On reading the report about it, I really do hope they manage to find him an excellent home.

Come to think of it, I have acres of unused grazing waiting for the right tenant....
