Hi all, I went to pull my horses mane today, starting at the base, and he was incredibly sore. When I managed to get close enough to have a look, I noticed that all the skin at the root of his mane is very flakey, although not dry if that makes sense. It seems to be where his rug has rubbed his mane where he had two on through the snow. I popped some Aloe Vera gel on there today, but I was wondering if anyone had any better suggestions? He has no hard feed for various reasons, so supplement suggestions won't be much use...ideally I need something I can apply directly. In an ideal world I would give him a good bath but given the low temp this isn't practical at the moment.
Thanks in advance!
