Just been looking at the website, and wondering what clinics etc they have on over winter. If some good ones would like to join, as me and nag need some help!

I'm a member of Hykeham RC. Only joined last year to get some training for my little cob. Didn't really get anything out of the jumping training at Riseholme as it was of mixed ages and abilities and the format didn't really suit my horse as he just fell asleep while he was awaiting his turn to jump the grids etc. I got alot more out jof the Lisa Christopher flatwork sessions though. The clinic is usually in 2's or 3's and you are constantly on the go. My cob loved it and i felt i really got something out of each session. It's really good value too!! I've been wondering about joining Welton RC this time round as Lisa also does clinics there and they have a different chap arranging the jumping. If you do decide to join either of these, let me know and we could arrange to meet up at one of the sessions!

I did their unaffil ODE a few years back, and it was the worst run event I have ever gone to. Some of the XC jumps had broken slats on them. The XC commentator, starter and 1st aider was the same bloke!

Haha!! A few years ago, i did the ODE and between walking the course and riding it the next day they had changed the direction of one of the XC fences without any notice anywhere. I was really chuffed that my boy had gone clear only to be told that i and several others had been eliminated. I was a bit chewed off about it at the time but i laugh about it now. Thats one way of getting rid of some of the entries!! LOL! I only join for the training now as it's a good way of getting good value training for my little cob!

Oh and I forgot the worst 1. They did not mark the intended way through a hedge, so I assumed it was through a vehicle-sized gap that faced the next jump (seemed obvious) when I walked the course the day before.

I crashed though a tape barrier as I turned through this blind gap, which luckily gave way easily or if would have brought us down. Scary!
