Im really struggling to sell my friends colt she had 2 and i sold the first one very quickly but struggling to sell the colt, getting ALOT of time wasters though.
Are cobs not really wanted at the moment because as i said storm sold very quickly but poor billy nobody seems to want.
And with us having another one due anyday now i quite frankly need rid of him,i dont know if its the size he is going to make or what but he is fully passported, chipped, vaccinated and wormed only problem is he is not cut yet ,and i dont know if thats holding people off but he wont be worth selling if we go to the cost of cutting him wont make anything on him.

Are we the only ones struggling to sell youngsters,im beginning to wonder if its not worth just part ex-ing the colt, mare and foal when it arrives and getting a pony for the kids which is what the ultimate plan is anyway.

not really. i put mine up and got 2 calls within 3 days, one timewaster, 1 very serious.
they may be taking mare on trial soon :)
but she's not a cob. she's cob sized though. 15h.

like i said storm sold quickly but he was something really special poor billy starting to think nobody wants him.

I think you were lucky to sell the first one.

Young ones take time, money, and effort before you can even ride them, and with people tightening their belts their money would probably be better spent on something they can jump on tomorrow.

Im actually considering sending him to telford as a mate of mine has a band of youngsters there and just letting him play for a couple of years and bring him back and then back him and do a bit with him for a year then sell him on.

.

He was something very special and we knocked people back with him to make sure he went to the right place.I was actually gutted he went as i quite fancied him for my future ride,i have just backed and riding his mum at the moment and she is lovely too but he will have the height and build she does not.Had i of had the money to buy him myself i would of had him tucked away waiting in the wings.

If you really can not shift him as he is, might be the best option.

Well he is not going to cost anymore there than he does here and who knows once i back him he could be perfect for the kids who will be at pony club age and stage by then.

My sister is struggling to sell her lovely pony. Have had quite a few phone calls, but most are from unsuitable people and my sister wants to make sure Dee goes to the best home. Last week we had people that tried her and said they wanted to get her vetted and then heard nothing after that!

i am struggling to buy.......................i wish people where more honest about their horse, looking for a youngster 2-3 yr old mw to hw to end up about 15.2-15.3 ish, went to see one which looked mw in the pictures and it was lw but the best was to go and see a mw 2yr who was ment to be 14.2+ to make 15.2+..........drove and 1hr and measured it at 13.2. now do i class as a time waster as both we not as discription? i was honest to both sellers saying why i wasn't interested in taking the sale any further, as in sorry but too fine for me and the other one i think is going to be too small for me?

No i wouldnt say that you were a timewaster, if anything the sellers wasted your time as they advertised the horses incorrectly. I also think you did the right thing by saying straight away that you were not interested in taking the sale any further. The people that came to try my sisters mare actually said they were definately going to get her vetted and all going well would buy her. My sister heard nothing from them again. I just wish they had rang to say they were not interested.
