Ok so it IS windy but this is ridiculous. 'Tried' to school V this morning, but there is a rumour going round that the tree at the end of our area actually EATS horses.. (imagine!)

So, we had sideways-horse, bronko-horse, stop-dead-in-tracks-horse, no-brakes-horse, and what-the-hell-is-that-over-there-horse.

I am exhausted.

On a positive note, she was so busy spooking that she forgot to nap. Result!

one of mine was a bit silly but i cut down on hard feed and upped hay and he's been fine since...

spring grass must be poking through!!

No, g'damit, mine is still as lazy as ever, despite a couple of days in

I'm glad you managed to find a positive after your session, it does sound exhausting

I have to say I don't miss having a sharp horse at this time of year

I think they can smell the grass starting to come through!

On our hack yesterday my usually very well behaved mare decided we really needed to canter up this stretch of grass, que going sideways and cantering along at the speed of my friends horses trot, thank god we have the breaking system worked out now

See my thread for opinions on the Wilkie bit, for my answer! I ordered one from the tack shop last night. I don't look my best riding a 12.2hh exmoor at the best of times, but am sick of looking a bit disgraceful when he's trying to tank off with me or refusing to WALK on the damned roads!!!

Yup - its very windy atm and I have decided even if I am going to lunge to see if it calms a bit....spring grass is coming through and we have had a great deal of sideways/upwards action, so....I think its that time of year (oh....and in season!)

Long reined my little pony on Sunday and he spent the entire time trying to convince me he was a lipizzaner!!
Spring has sprung me thinks!!!

Mine was so busy waving her bum at a good looking gelding we pass on a hack that she thought a blackbird that flew out of the hedge was in fact a terradactyl and nearly but us both through a car windscreen the other day!!

Yep, both of mine going nuts. I have cut down their feeds to nothing, they are out for as long as possible during the day (no less than 6 hours a day) and the youngster still tried to stomp on me this morning. I am tempted to chuck them out and they can learn to deal with it.
