Mine's molting like mad. Great tufts of hair coming away. She looks great, but isn't it a bit early!? It's bloody freezing still!

Nope! Here in (unusually) chilly Kent, all holding on to their coats! Hugo still is lovely and woolly - it will be a mess when it does happen! (except for his now non-existent mane :( )

Mainly his face bizarrely and body is trying to catch up slowly. We had very cold nights and hard frosts this week Weds through to Saturday so may have persuaded him to hang on a bit longer. He grew such a thick coat this winter it's going to be a lovely hairy endless time of it I think but the nesting birds will be very happy!

Dogs are:eek: , the horses have decided not to for a while yet.:)

Can't blame them. -20C outside at 9.30am right now. Nice and sunny though.

My appaloosa stallion is moulting like mad - but he usually starts early but not sure this early usually! His son (2 year old) and his mate (8 year old quarter horse) are not even thinking about it! I rode him today, just for a 40 minute hack to remind him I care, and was brushing him down after and his shoulders are almost summer coat! The moulting hair is white and it gets EVERYWHERE! :(

Yes, the old boy started to loose hair around xmas! Which seems crazy, but then he has the most ridiculous amount of hair for a tb, his coat is more like what you would expect to see on a Shetland or native.

I'm already starting to get fed up with getting hair in my mouth and face when grooming etc... My sisters KWPN,is more sensible and has decided to keep his hair for the time being...
