is anyone elses horses shedding their coat?

my 2yo filly is shedding hers its coming out in handfuls, but doesnt seem 'under the weather' shes out during the day stabled at night, amigo lw in the field and lw stable rug at night
does any one have any ideas,

I noticed yesterday that my TB seems to be moulting, his coat has been lovely and shiny all winter but is just beginning to look a bit harsh and seems to be shedding a bit. I wonder whether the sudden change from freezing to almost balmy this last few days has fooled them. He is also probably a little over rugged, bought rugs planning ahead to clip him but due to doing so little work through the winter I didn't bother to clip, he doesn't sweat under his rugs but could probably manage with slightly lighter ones tbh.

Yes, my girl's doing it, same time every year. It will stop for a while and then a bit later on the whole lot will come out.

My ID has started to but my Sec D isn't.

Does anyone find their horse is slightly under the weather when they start shedding? The ID often seems to be & has now gone down with a cough/chill just as he's started shedding, it seems to happen every year.

Gosh no. If anything my boy has got furrier this past week or so. If your filly looks happy and healthy in every other way I wouldn't worry. X

Totally normal at this time of year. 2 of my 4 are moulting.

Increase in daylight not temperature triggers moultig so they can start anytime after Xmas.
