Is autumn training cubbing? And costs to go?

Thick question but are they the same thing??!!
Just wondered if this is the politically correct term to what we used to call cubbing?
Also does any one else pay to go autumn training? I went out a couple of days last oct with the B & SV and it was free, yet when I phoned up recently to see where they were out, I was told there was a charge of £15 an adult.
I am on the edge of dorset/somerset/wiltshire borders so would be interested to find out if the portman etc charge too...

Cubbing was changed to autumn hunting as some people thought we went around killing fox cubs. I think it is normal to charge for autumn hunting. Some hunts only let regulars go out. The wilton say if you suscribe before the 1st september your autumn hunting is included.

I have always paid a cap to go cubbing or as you say "Autumn Hunting" now. But I pay a subscription anyway and the whole season is included.

Autumn Hunting & Autumn Training are alternative names for what used to be known as cub hunting. A term that used to give ammo to our opponents.

Most hunts say that autumn hunting is free once the full subscription has been paid - supposed to be an incentive to get the mounted field to cough up earlier! Until then charge a nominal fee of between £5-15 depending on age of person and what the mastership/committee have decided on.
