Is cortisone only injected into joints to treat arthritis?

Q as title?! It's anti inflammatory as I understand

Our horse has had cortisone injections, and no mention has been made of arthritis. The horses at work occasionally have these too, so think it is often used for any suspected inflammation. It doesn't seem to have helped either of mine tbh.

No, any inflammatory condition can be treated with cortisone e.g. Bursitis.
