Is flaked barley any good.....

For weight gain and keeping on condition? I swear by Baileys topline for my hunters but it can get quite expensive. So is barley any good??

I wouldn't use it myself as any feed with barley in sends my mare utterly bonkers! How about kwikibeet, microionised linseed and an oiled chaff?

Yes. provided the horse is working hard enough to use the huge amount of starch it contains and you don't feed too much in one meal. And that the individual horse can cope (mentally and physically) with a high starch diet.
