Im not at home at the moment ( work experience) and i talked to my mum yesterday and she said that Hemir was being a little sh$t, everytime she went near him he put his ears back and went to bite her, he wont eat his dinner, but goes and eats the girls' dinner, they all get the same and are fed in the field...their shelter is a little wierd as it is in the barn where we keep everything, you can enter the shelter through the barn, and just inside that there is a windowsill with 'stuff' on it, he keeps knocking the 'stuff' off it... hes being VERY bulshy towards everyone, and is being a little git, he wont say hello, doesnt want to come in... he doesnt do any of these things when im at home, he winnies whenever someone goes and sees him, is always wanting attention, never has his ears back, is a real angel in the stable (not 100% but who is!).... mum said that their is a real change in his behaviour, and shes actually quite worried about him.
In her txt this morning she said that he was looking at our gate and crying.

So what do you think, is it the change in the weather or is he missing me, or something else?

Possibly.

Is it always you that does him and fusses over him?
Is he being ridden while you are away? If not, maybe he's bored.
Are the others going out without him?


You'll find out when you get back home won't you?
A word of warning though, if he IS missing you, be prepared for him to be cross with you for abandoning him. That may sound far fetched but it does happen, I had a mare at Rossdales for a colic operation for 10 days and the nurses warned me that very many horses sulk and are mad at their everyday carers for leaving them in a strange place more or less at their darkest hour of need. Now, I know the situation isn't the same, because luckily Hemir isn't poorly, but perhaps, in his eyes he's been left.
My mare was a whinny-er too, for two weeks after she came home she was an utter cowbag, ears back, head in the corner, completely ignored me and would NOT look at me, I didn't believe it at first but she was MAD at me.

I hope Hemir is thrilled to bits to see you back and that you are enjoying your work experience.
