Don't really know what i expect you to say but i can't get there at mo so i'll talk to you instead! Dad went to feed/check horses this morning. 1 sec D and 2 2yr old dartmoors. Sec d rugged, ponios not as have HUGE coats and field is very shelterd with trees and have 12x12 shelter!! I tried rugs but one didn't move all night with it on and the other sweated. Dad rang me before he left to say he was worried about little Merlin. Dad doesn't know an awful lot about horses but enough to know what he's seeing, Merlin has sweet itch (for about last 3-4 months) and quite often takes himslef off for a scratch up the tree but apparently he eat his breakfast with the others, started to eat a bit of hay, but then went and stood in the shelter. Dad hand fed him a bit of hay and he eat it but wasn't easting the hay nets in the shelter (all mine are like ganits normally!) He just seemed v quiet, he's not too fused on being handled a lot of the time (was a rescue) but didn't bother at all. Dad had to pop down the road so said he'd go back on his way, Merlin was down by the gate with his bum leening in the fence, dad didn't seem to think he was rubbing, just stood there. We did have really bad weather last night but they have always lived out with probs wat so ever, when i got there last night they were all in shelter, ponies were wet but not to the skin, just the top coat. He was still wet and d said it was cold but i always check there inner thigh and shieth whcih d said was warm. D stayed with him for while but no change, ate a bit but was leaning on the fence. Am going to try and leave early (normally 3pm) and see him. No noise from his belly and not pawing ground or out? Maybe just a bad night? Hate not being there!

It was a very rough night last night here in Glos...so I know what you mean about the weather.
Why don't you take his temperature to see if he is hot/cold...he may just have a chill...?
Sometimes when it's really windy rainy weather, they don't sleep as they would normally for fear of predators sneaking up on them...so perhaps he is just worn out?
Hope he's ok.

Thanks for the reply. Did think he might just be tired but dad checked him again at 11ish and was still same, it just isn't like him not to eat! Obviously thought of chill but have always been out without a prob. Am gona ask boss if i can leave in a min, feel sick with worry! If i have to have the vet out i'd rather do it before it gets dark!
