Is he too 'ribby'? *PICS*

He's 13 yrs old. Has been living out upto now, but is now being brought in due as the grass on the field is limit with this weeks downpour.

He's now been brought in of a night, out all day for 8-10 hours with slice of hay in field, x2 feed AM/PM and a haynet.

Thoughts?

He has dropped weight, I've noticed that so I've increased his feed but is he too skinny. The pics don't really show it well, but to touch you can feel his ribs and on certain angles they are visible.

He is no currently in ridden work due to ongoing lameness issues with bone spavins, hence the lack of muscle.

Agree, wouldn't want him to loose any more but looks absolutely fine now. A lot of what your seeing is muscle wastage rather than weight loss.

Fine for this time of year he will be able to enjoy grass in the better weather most horses finish the winter to fat now .
