Is is possible to loan a horse out thats not in work?

My pony had been pretty much off work for a year when I loaned him out. I got pregnant and was super-tired at first so not riding much, then he got kicked by another horse and was lame for 3 months, then by the time he was sound again I was massive and could only walk or gallop so he did very little.

After the baby came, I rode him twice, just hacked him round the lanes. Then put him on loan through project horse just saying that he was pretty much out of work. He's not easy either, gets a very nervous if out of his comfort zone, and is very strong to a fence if he isn't given regular pole work. I was upfront in the advert and said that he'd need 6weeks of decent work to go back to being the nicely schooled sensible boy I owned a year ago! But I found a home for him no problems, they've bought him back into regular work and have been competing him all summer.

A month really isn't that long for a horse to be out of work, he'll be back up to riding fitness in no time I should think. Of course, depends on what you mean by 'isn't all the easy' as to whether you can find him a loan home but that would be the same if he was in work or not.
