I have just won a saddle on Ebay that was advertised English but when I asked her to confirm it was stamped before I paid she said no but it definately was.I just wanted another opinion as to what you think? I always thought that it would be stamped somewhere,I know not all have makers plates but I want to make sure before I pay as it would be extremely difficult to sell on if it doesn't fit, thanks.

She doesn't know what make it is,all mine have always either had a make or just made in England under the saddle flap.I don't know if Ebay hold the money,I don't think so unless things have changed.

Some of them have a plate saying where it comes from others have the name of the saddle stamped underneath sometimes on the girth flaps.

I'm not sure re the English stamp or not.

Ebay won't 'hold' the money in limbo until you receive the item. You pay, you receive item. If you then think it is not as described you start a PayPal dispute and that is when PayPal take the money from the sellers account and hold it until the matter is resolved, getting each parties views/opinions etc.

Can you PM me a link to the auction please?

Unfortunately some sellers call all English style saddles English and the wording you want is Made in England.

The saddle I am trying to sell is english leather, made in england but of no special make as it was made by a saddler who worked for albion and whos brother owns silouhette saddles. He was starting up his own company. so basically it has no name on it so I wouldn't worry about it too much.
