So I have a mare, one day she does everything I ask of her, the next she acts like she's never had to do it before - I haven't had her long (only afew month) and she hated being tied up when she first came, I've worked with this and tried out different techniques to help (using the natural horsemanship approach) and it seemed to be getting better. Then all of the sudden from nowhere she decided she didn't like it again and kept spinning around and wouldn't stand still - she does this regardless to whether I'm grooming her or mucking her stable. I'm finding she does this in alot of situations - she is fine one day and a nightmare the next.

I've never had a gelding so don't know if this is just a mare thing?

Also does anybody have any other tips for helping when tied up?

Personally I would say no this is not a mare thing but a "your horse" thing. Something has obviously triggered that behaviour, just a guessing game and trial and error to find the cause and cure. How is she if she is occupied with something when tied up, i.e. haynet or lickit etc?

Yeah she's just the same. I think what I meant by the 'is it a mare thing' was the fact that one day she'll do something and then the next she won't and acts like she's never done it before.

Try blue chips Karma, AMAZING stuff!!!! Really does work and has a great effect (and that's coming from a sceptical calmer person!!!) May just need the edge taking off
