Or does everyone at one time in their horsey lives get this feeling that I am going through at the minute.

I bought my bombproof HW about 4 weeks ago, ordered a saddle for him, waited two weeks, it finally arrived, then the wet blanket on that was that I bought the wrong size girth (duh brain me), thankfully afew days later after that I bought a new one, which should fit (touches wood), then the rain started, so no riding. But I'm going this afternoon, hopefully.

Now my dilema is that, for some reason I'm very nervous about riding him, not sure why. I have already ridden him a couple of times when I went to view him and he was a plod (yay for me), very slow didnt spook at anything and did everything I asked. He is very soft and sweet, hasnt lashed out or anything.

Now the last time I fell off a horse was about Febuary this year and even after I had fell I was mind set on getting back on.

I'm wondering if its my excitment turning into nervousness, now I'm not frightened of falling off, as that happens to the best of us. There is just something niggling in my mind.

Hopefully this is just a phase and wondered if anyone else had been in this situation?

Cookie smoothie for anyone who gets this far!!

Yep this is exactly what it is, and the four weeks off has allowed all the "what if's" to creep in.

You will be fine, as you have had 4 weeks of ground work to work on your relationship, which is a lot more than some horses get. Just aim for a nice plod out, nothing too exciting and I promise you will come back with a big grin on your face and the "what if's" nicely caged.

Its normal to feel like that. You don't yet know how your horse will react to different situations so you feel some trepidation. As soon as you get to know his little ways you will build up confidence. I'm sure he will be lovely. Enjoy him!
