Just having this conversation with hub.. that last couple of years we have haggled ie £20 -£30 off our various insurances. He just got his Admiral car insurance and was mortified rang them and got £40 off!!!

Last year after having a low tractor insurance(some milestone celebration with NFU) got a reminder and was horrified at the climb. Had not claimed etc and after asking NFU they did knock some off...ie something like £15

Why do they all do this now..........?? Why not quote a good price in first place and not a haggle price......seems a right rip off and the latest thing they do///

Any one know why they can do this?

I think its well dodgey and not good PR

No idea why they are allowed to do it, it really gets on my nerves too! Also found it often is cheaper to get a new quote on line from the same company that the renewal letter ow weird is that??

Have to say that I was quite shocked a the £150 increase in my house insurance (NFU) this year.

So I phoned them up and told them I was not best chuffed (was ready to have a bit of barney to be honest)but before I could get into full on rant mode the girl who answered the phone said "would you like to be see what I can do" - obviously my answer was yes, they came back a couple of hours later and had knocked £80 off.

Bloody cheek.

So yes I think some of these companies are just having a laugh and from here on in I am going to complain about every damn bill I get :D
