Just trying to get everything sorted as best I can for my horse and am unsure on some things but getting there. So far shes been changed from soaked hay to horsehage and Ive got cardboard bedding on order. So now Im wanting to check Im doing everything right with her hard feed. Part of her diet includes Baileys top line conditioning cubes and Baileys fibre plus nuggets both of which she has dry but Im wondering if this is a good idea with COPD? The cubes dont look dusty at all but unsure if this means theyre OK to feed dry? She has part of her top line conditioning cubes dry as shes a fussy feeder and it can be hard to get her to eat as much as she needs. We find it works well giving her half of her ration of cubes dry in a bucket for her to pick on overnight. It would be difficult to get her full ration down her in wet feeds but dont want to do anything wrong with COPD. She also has fibre plus nuggets dry but these do look a bit more of a drier consistency than the cubes. She loves these so would hopefully like these even if dampened down if this would be necessary? Im hoping people think its OK to feed the cubes dry even if the nuggets need dampening down but am grateful for any thoughts and advice! Everyones been great on here helping me and Im very grateful. X
