Is it possible to employ a groom for just one show?

I need a groom/helper for the NPS Summer Championships Show on the 3 counties showground for the 3/4th Aug but its only a one off as usually my OH helps. Are there peeps out there who do this? is there a website where they might advertise? It will just be to hold ponio/ last min grooming etc etc so i'm not loading/unloading on my own.I've looked in local tack shops and not seen any adds for such services so do they exist?
 
I know someone who does this, but it depends whereabouts you are, she is an international producer for in-hand showing, so you would know she would turn your horses out to a high standard! I do know she went last weekend downsouth to do a show....not sure what she charges, PM me if you would like more details, but as with all things....it won't be 'cheap'....!

If you didn't look to be spending a huge amount, I would ask local equine colleges if they have anyone who would like to do it, they might like the experience! No horsey friends who could help?
 
Of course, any freelance groom would be able to do this for you.
Perhaps finding a website that covers the area of the show and advertising on there for a daily groom might be the way forward, or maybe through a breed society website
 
Absolutely! I used to do this quite a bit - especially for showing. Sadly I am miles away from you I think but there must be people out there with the right skills.
 
Thanks for the replies I'm glad they do exist. just got to find someone. I need someone competent as its our last major show of the year and he's still new to the really big shows/overnight stabling. I shall start asking round as only 10th days left.
 
Its a shame its not a weekend as i'd be happy to do it, im only 15 mins from 3 counties. But im at work those days :( I hope you manage to sort something.
 
I'm going hopefully (also waiting on in foal mare to 'drop'!), to help a friend with her highlands, if you get really stuck let me know and I will help as much as I can.
 
Yes it is really late. OH's work only just finally said it was a crucial day they didn't want him to take off. Running a search now.
 
Ill do it for you if you're stuck, just let me know and I could probably book the day off work, I'm no show groom but I'm 27 and competant with horses - let me know if you don't get sorted xxx
