Hi I don't have mains power on my yard but preffer to feed steamed hay better as good for horses and they don't like soaked hay as much, I currently steam hay at house and take it to yard or take kettles to steam it with but as I'm hoping to use battery power to light yard soon I was wondering if anyone had powered a small steamer this way(or even kettles). I will recharge batteries regularly so that wouldn't be problem!

any other suggestions welcomed!

many thanks!

Not unless you can invent a portable battery that delivers 3 kilowatts of power for five minutes and if you could do that you'd have enough money to put mains electricity in :)

Heat takes an awful lot more power than light I'm afraid. I asked my resident engineer if you could use a car boil-in-mug heater but he says that for the quantity of water you need it will either never boil or the battery will go flat anyway. Sorry :(
