Is it really worth it?

I know this has probably been done before, but since our bales of shavings have gone up to £6.50 a bag, was wondering if rubber matting would be a good investment?

problem is, stable has no drainage, is just flat concrete floor. would this be a major problem?

I was thinking of rubber mats with shaving banks and a bale on the floor to mop up any pee?

its a 12x12 standard type stable

Rubber mats definitely save money long-term. You should save a fortune if you just use enough shavings to mop up the wees.

I use rubber mats and a tiny pile of shavings for them to wee on. I saved loads of money last winter

I poured some water in them every two days and swept it out to keep them clean. My two mares stayed clean (if you knew how vile my TBx stable was with loads of shavings in

) and the stables didn't smell bad at all

i highly recommend matting, they save money and time, i would always have matting now

yeah matting is such a bonus .
