After a previous discussion on the tb x arab mare I am getting (underweight, unbroken 7yr old!)

I just wondered after the replies I got regarding different feeds, how much different stuff is safe for her too have in one feed?

Ican't over fill her as currently she gets a handful of oats by her owner and that is it.

She is very skinny and I was going to feed:
D&H Build Up Mix
Molichaf Original
Speedibeet
Supplement (Codlivine, oil)

I wanted to add something else to give it a bit more to it, but not sure whether that would be the right thing to do, I like the D&H mix and have seeni t work wonders, but wondering whether I could use Baileys outshine aswell or conditioning cubes, or possibly grass nuts? or would that be too much? I have always had good doers (Cobs, New Forest, Welsh Section D's), so I am not used to having to feed so much!

Good grass and 4 small but nutritious feeds a day will do the job!! I wouldn't go mixing conditioning cubes with the build up mix - what's the point? stick to one or the other, and I'd use an alfalfa or pure grass chaff instead of the mollichaff as you will be giving more DE (calories) in the same amount fed.

If she is coming in at night, leave as much good quality hay as she can eat. That will do far more than pumping hard feed into her.
Then Alpha A Oil, and Blue Chip split into four small feeds a day.
You can add more later if she needs it.

and echo the 4 small feeds - her stomach will not be able to cope with sudden quantities of food, plus which it takes around 2 weeks for horses stomach to "develop" the right bacteria etc to actually get the best value and nutrition from the food so best to build up the amounts.
