I've advertised my mare in Horsemart and elsewhere and there hasn't been much of a response, when i advertised my other mare for loan I had over 30 e-mails and 18 phone calls!! This one is not straight forward though which i'm thinking has something to do with it.I'm wondering if my advert is too negative? i just want to be really honest about what she is like.
This is the advert that was e-mailed round my riding club:

FOR SHARE/PART LOAN
15.1hh 4yrs, Holsteiner X TB. Pandora is coming on really well and has been schooled by a professional rider; she has been placed in most of her dressage outings, loves jumping and is doing small courses with great scope. She is a loving horse but still young however and does have the odd sharp moment when she thinks she knows best!! She is very good to hack out; she schools nicely but can be spooky. A competent rider is needed to get the most out of this talented mare; she is such a fun ride but is still slightly green. There are no chores to be done, just come and ride!! Great facilities and a very friendly yard. She is stabled in Bourne End, Berks. Contribution required in return for unlimited riding/opportunity to compete for right person. Transport available. More pics available.
These are the pics with the ad:

Don't know looks OK to me. Maybe change the description a bit I'd just stick to the positive parts and then add something like a bit more general like ...this willing but green horse needs a competent, confident rider to help her reach her full potential. There isn't really anything there that would put me off maybe you've just been unlucky. maybe add a jump shot as you've said she jumps?

I assume you're looking for a financial contribution? I would add in how much you're looking for, as people might assume you want quite a bit. I can't really see anything wrong with the ad to be honest, the comments about her being sharp wouldn't put me off - I'd have thought the kind of rider you are looking for probably wouldn't be put off either.

I don't know what your other horse for loan is like, but in my experience, a lot of people wanting to part loan tend to be fairly novice types looking for something to ease themselves into ownership gradually, so I think the "target market" for your ad is quite small. People may also be put off by the competent rider bit, because its not entirely clear how good you want someone to be.

Anyway, I don't think there is anything really wrong with your ad, I think it might just take a bit of time to find the right person.

Hi em
Sure you will find the right person for her - is it the showing judge coming tomorrow? Might be worth changing her age to 5 cos she must be just about to turn 5 if not already - people might be more keen thinking they could do a bit more with a 5 year old than a 4 year old!! If the person tomorrow doesn't think they are up to Dora or you don't think they are - see if tehy want to share T!! I could do with some extra finances!
