They are trying to bring it through the northern ireland government. There was an article about in last weeks Irish Field but I don't have it to hand so can't give all the details but from what I remember one of the greens up there is bringing in a "hunting act" be voted on and it would effectively ban all hunting in Northern Ireland with hounds/dogs.

I think the Irish have enough to be worried about at the moment - that and the affect that a ban would have on the economy at this stage should hopefully be enough to deter them.

The proposal is to ban hunting in Northern Ireland - the only part of the UK where hunting live quarry is still legal in the form which has now been banned in the rest of the UK. It would not surprise me at all if this does get passed.

You may be interested to hear that the Greens will soon be out of govern
ment in the Republic.Once they are gone the chances of a ban down south
will recede.These days we have more important things to worry about.
