Was thinking of leaving my girls out tonight but wondered if it was still too early in the year, weather seems to be mild at the moment.
I stable my clipped TB mares at night during the winter and leave them out 24/7 during the summer months. My 3 acre field doesn't really have any natural shelter and don't have a field one either.
Would love to hear what everyone else is doing, especially with TBs.
Just dropped them down to lightweight turnouts and thought about throwing another LW on if I leave them out. I feed two feeds a day, amount depending on what work they are doing and always have haynets out.

I can't help you to decide, 'cos we are trying to make our own minds up about the very same thing. Ours are not TBs but a selection of hardier types (oldest almost 30). The newest one though was clipped by her previous owners and has been out for most of the last week without rug, during the day. We would love to leave them out but I think rain is forecast for tonight - we are taking it a day at a time. It's always difficult at this time of year.

I made my decision last week and left my spoilt boy out and he loves it!! Grass is starting to come through, he has a bit of hay 2 feeds and is rugged.

My two (unclipped 2 year old and hunter clipped welsh D) have been out for the last week and are LOVING it. They are so much happier. :D
