Is it too late to clip in march?

Yes IMO its to late i never clipped at all this year i got away with no clip.

I am old school taught you do not clip after the last day in Jan and I stick to that always will.

I clipped yesterday, always do last week Feb, will have to re-do next weekend as blades gave up on me, just his bum top to do!!. If you are not showing or anything, I would. Have done the end of Feb with no issues of summer coat etc.

Some at my yeard clip even later, into late march.

I clip whenever its necessary and its not made any difference to my horses coats. Have to clip my gelding all year round as he gets too hot in Summer. He's been just fine with it...

you can clip any time of year. so go for it. i would do a hunter or a full clip so no lines. takes a week for them to color up and summer coat in 3 weeks after clip. tho if he has surgical patches clipped in his neck they might take longer to color up. but will blend quicker if re clipped with the rest of him

it depends on what you are aiming for ? If you want to show then yes it might effect the coat coming in and so I wouldnt. However many people clip all year round with no problems.

I clipped my TB last weekend (full clip, last one in Nov). When i asked for advice as it was a little later than ive previously done it, everyone said it was fine, and most other people at my yard have recently done a 2nd clip.

Clip and enjoy a hair-free horse!!
