I have recently bought a new horse and want to clip for the winter as shes becoming a fluffy bear, despite being rugged up! Someone told me i was to late to clip now and to keep rugging and grooming?

My horse is and will continue to be in work for the winter, and at the moment is sweating up so much!!

Of course it's not too late, most horses will be clipped several times over the winter as their coats continue to grow back, I wonder where some people get their information from, this is one of the best yet!!

This was my trail of thought, ive only been out the game for 3 years...I didn't think things had changed that drastically!!

No its not too late. Old rule of thumb is not to clip after 31st January as allegedly it can 'spoil the summer coat' but as I have only clipped my horse twice in eleven years I'm not up to date with recent trends. He is treated as a clipped horse as his coat is so very fine.
