I usually do it on christmas eve or the day before. Ive had food poisoning so didnt get the chance, if i did it on sunday (7th) would it be too late into winter to do his final clip? I only ask as we show in the spring/ summer and i dont want clip lines on him.

I don't think so. What clip are you going for, same again?

Nush was only done on the weekend, although it was a full clip so there aren't lines

I always clip mine right up until the end of january so haven't even thought about last clips yet. We don't show though so it makes no difference whether the clip still shows or not, and I quite often clip in the summer too. I would have thought you would be fine clipping him now, and if you're worried about lines then you could take everything off (mine live out like this, evil person that I am).

Im not sure, was going to do a blanket instead of his chaser. Not sure yet. Glad that its ok to clip now- was starting to worry as he was moulting already!

I only did my first clip on Sunday! Kept meaning to get round to it but what with being busy and waiting for our new clippers to arrive (Lister Liberty - best clippers ever)...

anyway we did a full clip on my arab - scarily he had already started growing his summer coat underneath... we haven't even had winter yet! If you're not going to show then I wouldn't worry about clipping right through until Feb/March

I'll do two more yet, if necessary! Although new girl is more tb so doesn't get as hairy, I can't stand those cat hairs they get. (I know that more groomnig would probably help to prevent them...)

I will clip again but then she is clipped through the summer too, sweaty beast she is!!
But her getting clipped depends on when i am home from uni,
But I don't show and I suppose it depends on what colour your horse is when it comes to showing.
If it needs the clip i would clip it and if all else fails by the time showing season comes, you could get rid of it all.
I did last year as the lines were annoying me!!

i dont think that it is too late at all infact i am going to do mine soon because they need clipping if you think it is too late then only do a blanket clip or somthing smaller not a full clip what clip do you normally clip???

my horse doesn't grow his summer coat till april so i do his last clip anytime up to and including march. depends when your horse starts changing coat as to when you should do the last clip.

Unless you're showing, there's never a too late to clip date

A lot of competition horses are clipped throughout the year...

Bo was done on New Years Day, and Trike will be done again in the next week or so if I get time. I may well end up doing them both again though before the summer
